Touch Press Inc. leading the way to deliver an enriching suite of learning games for kids and families.

New York – October 6th, 2016 – Amplify and StoryToys today announced the launch of a unique new venture in the educational content market: Touch Press Inc. This new digital publisher integrates the award-winning portfolios of Amplify Games, StoryToys, and Touchpress apps aimed for kids from kindergarten through middle school and beyond.

  • Amplify Games – the games team and games from Amplify, representing a $25M+ investment in a portfolio of AAA titles renowned for their quality and engagement, but which to date have only been available in the schools’ channel.
  • StoryToys – a leading independent developer and publisher of apps for PreK-3 markets featuring some of the world’s best-loved children’s characters, such as The Very Hungry Caterpillar, Elmo, and Batman.
  • Touchpress apps – one of the App Store’s most prestigious and respected app portfolios, including ‘The Elements by Theodore Gray’, ‘Solar System for iPad’, ‘Shakespeare’s Sonnets’ and ‘Leonardo Da Vinci: Anatomy’.

This integration represents an unprecedented investment in educational games, apps and reference content, and is being launched with the objective of delivering a lifetime of learning content to both consumer and schools markets. In an innovative development, the Touch Press Games portfolio will be available with an option for subscription pricing – giving consumers convenient access to a portfolio of premium games, but without the worry of in-app currency purchases or in-game advertising. New games and apps will be added each month for no extra cost.

Touch Press Inc.’s Series A round was led by an investment vehicle backed by Emerson Collective. Other investors in the round will be announced over the coming months. Touch Press Inc. will be led by StoryToys’ CEO Barry O’Neill from the new company’s headquarters in Brooklyn, New York. The company will maintain teams in Brooklyn and Dublin, Ireland.

Barry O’Neill, CEO said: “The integration of the three portfolios creates a truly unique suite of apps from kindergarten through middle-school and beyond. I’m particularly excited that we’re able to bring the acclaimed work of Amplify Games team to consumers. The formation of Touch Press Inc. is just the beginning of our teams’ plans, and we will have further announcements over the coming months.”

Larry Berger, Chairman said: “Kids love to play the Amplify Games – in schools around the country, they’re playing them in their free time – developing knowledge and skills and confidence in everything from algebra to vocabulary to ecosystems. We are delighted to make an integrated portfolio of kid-friendly, educationally relevant games and an e-library of great books available across ages, giving parents and schools a safe way to let kids roam in a world of high quality learning.”
